Glenna has been coming to the YMCA since December 1988. She found that working out 3 times a week keeps her healthy and strong. In 2008, Glenna found out that she has spinal stenosis and was put on disability from doing her job as a factory worker. She knew she needed to stay active once she got her diagnosis and she hoped the YMCA could help her out. “I was only getting social security disability, so I came to the office at the YMCA to get help. I filled out the forms and they approved me for a rehab/disability scholarship. If it wasn’t for the NuStep, water aerobics, and Cybex machines that my rehab person recommended me to do, I don’t think I could manage my disability.” Glenna still tries to come to the YMCA 3 times a week and her doctors are pleased with her progress. “It has been 10 years since I was put in disability from work and I am now 69 years old. Thank you to all that help me make this possible”.
