Swim lessons are important in a child’s life because it equips them with the skills that they need to feel safe around the water and put your mind at ease. Learning to swim not only allows kids to have fun in the water, but it can also save their life by teaching them how to stay afloat in the water!
At the YMCA we want everyone in our community to learn safety around water. We specifically do that by teaching swim lesson. It’s important for everyone to know how to swim because water can be very dangerous. Approximately 3,500 people a year die in the United States as a result of drowning.
Swim Starter class allows the new little swimmer to adjust to the aquatic environment and begin to learn aquatic safety.
