What's New!

We are releasing Les Mills Body Pump, Release 80!  Dress up in your best 80's inspired workout clothes and join us on January 7 at the 16th Street YMCA from 9-10am. 

Check out these new classes on our Winter Schedule:

SilverSneakers® Muscular strength & range of Movement Cardio Circuit is a multi-level, equipment based, total body conditioning utilizing a chair, elastic tubing with handles, hand-held weights, and an inflatable ball.  

SilverSneakers® - Cardio Circuit: Combine fun with fitness to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance power with a standing circuit workout.  Upper body strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a Silver Sneakers ball is alternated with non-impact aerobic choreography.  A chair is offered for support, stretching and relaxation exercises.

SilverSneakers® Yoga Stretch – Move your whole body through a complete series of seated & standing yoga poses.  Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of postures designed to increase flexibility, balance, & range of movement.

Zumba Gold®Zumba Gold® – Zumba Gold targets the largest growing segment of the population: baby boomers. It takes the Zumba formula and modifies the moves and pacing to suit the needs of the active older participant, as well as those just starting their journey to a fit and healthy lifestyle. What stays the same are all the elements the Zumba Fitness-Party is known for: the zesty Latin music, like salsa, merengue, cumbia and reggaeton; the exhilarating, easy-to-follow moves; and the invigorating, party-like atmosphere. Active older adults want camaraderie, excitement and fitness as a regular part of their weekly schedule. Zumba Gold is the perfect fit. It’s a dance-fitness class that feels friendly, and most of all, fun.

 

Zumba® Aqua Zumba® – Known as the Zumba "pool party," Aqua Zumba gives new meaning to the idea of an invigorating workout. Splashing, stretching, twisting, even shouting, laughing, hooting and hollering are often heard during an Aqua Zumba class. Integrating the Zumba formula and philosophy with traditional aqua fitness disciplines, Aqua Zumba blends it all together into a safe, challenging, water-based workout that’s cardio-conditioning, body-toning, and most of all, exhilarating beyond belief!

Les Mills Body Attack

BODYATTACK™ is the sports-inspired cardio workout for building strength and stamina. This high-energy interval training class combines athletic aerobic movements with strength and stabilization exercises. Dynamic instructors and powerful music motivate everyone towards their fitness goals - from the weekend athlete to the hard-core competitor! Like all the LES MILLS™ programs, a new BODYATTACK™ class is released every three months with new music and choreography.

Les Mills Body Pump

BODYPUMP™ is the original barbell class that strengthens your entire body. This 60-minute workout challenges all your major muscle groups by using the best weight-room exercises like squats, presses, lifts and curls. Great music, awesome instructors and your choice of weight inspire you to get the results you came for – and fast! Like all the LES MILLS™ programs, a new BODYPUMP™ class is released every three months with new music and choreography.  JOIN US January 7 at 16th Street YMCA from 9-10am for the Launch of Release 80.  Whole new moves, same great workout.  Dress out in your best 80's inspired get up.


Land Fitness -

Circuit Training- Different stations of weight training and cardio segments to create high calorie burn.

Bootcamp: This fast paced class is filled with weight training, cardio, and body weight exercises.

F.I.T.- (Focused Interval Training) This class utilizes cardio, strength training and loads of variety to your workout.  With three different instructors each class will be a unique experience.

Fit Ball – Utilizing a stability ball, this class will help to strengthen the entire core (back & stomach)

Group Cycling- A low-impact group exercise class on specially-built stationary bikes.  Space is limited.  Reserve your bike thru signup sheets available at 16th Front Desk.

Moms In MotionThis prenatal exercise class is designed for expecting mom’s to stay in shape throughout her pregnancy.  Class begins on dry land and then movements are intensified in the water. 

Pilates- A series of non-impact exercises designed to develop strength, flexibility, and balance.

Power Yoga: Sweat producing, muscle building powerful workout, balancing opposing muscles groups, athletes may alleviate pain and injuries

Step- It’s still a favorite.  Instructors will guide you through challenging workouts using the bench.

Total Toning –Tone the entire body with use of hand weights, resistance bands, and stability balls.

Yoga- A rejuvenating class that involves muscle lengthening exercises in a soothing atmosphere. Please note that beginner class is offered on Tuesdays with advanced class on Thursday evenings.

Zumba- A danced-inspired cardio class with infectious music, easy-to-follow dance moves, with little instructor cueing. It is all about movement, no rhythm required.  (Zumba Tomic—same class just geared toward kids!)

 


Water Fitness

AFYAP- A program sponsored by the National Arthritis Foundation and the YMCA of the USA. Water exercise specific for people with mild to moderate arthritis and those with other therapeutic needs.

Soothing Water- Exercise in the relaxing and soothing confines of water. Exercises done in the primarily in the deep end of the pool.

Deep Water: Interval paced aerobic workout in the deep end of the pool. 

Aquacise/Sculpting Water - Build cardiovascular endurance and strengthen your entire body while you work against the water’s resistance.
