Water Fitness


Exercise Classes available in the pool

AFYAP-(Arthritis Foundation of the YMCA Aquatics Program) AFYAP is sponsored by the National Arthritis Foundation and the YMCA of the USA. This 30-minute class is specific for people with mild to moderate arthritis and those with other therapeutic needs.  All activity takes place in the shallow water. Classes offered week days at 11:35-Noon at our 16th Street YMCA location

Aquacise- Build cardiovascular endurance and strengthen your entire body while you work against the water’s resistance. Classes offered week days at 10:30-11:30am at our 16th Street YMCA location 

Sculpting Water - Utilizing the shallow and deep water, this class will help to sculpt your muscles, improve your balance while building your cardiovascular endurance.   Morning and evening classes are available.  Please check the fitness class schedule for class times.

Moms In Motion – This prenatal exercise class is designed for expecting mom’s to stay in shape throughout her pregnancy.  Whether you are in your first trimester or expecting to deliver your bundle of joy, moms in motion can help aliviate stress on your bones and joints, while providing a social environment of other expecting moms.  Class begins on dry land and then movements are intensified in the water.  Class is Tuesdays at 7-8pm at the 16th Street YMCA location.

Deep Water: Interval paced aerobic workout in the deep end of the pool.
